Ende is small town by the scenic bay of Ende.  Ende is the closest aerial access to The Three-Color-Lake Kelimutu, that takes only 1.5-hour drive. Ende historically was the town of exile in the Dutch occupation period when Indonesia’s first president Soekarno was sent into the exile here.

Ende offers to its visitors the shortest aerial access to Kelimutu National Park. Soft trekking in the green rice fields, visit the former exile of Mr. Soekarno, visit the hand weaving museum, and soft trekking to Mount Iya.

Trekking to Mount Iya Ende

Mount Iya (657 m)   is an active fire-volcano lies by the ocean overlooking the scenic bay of Ende and the small town of Ende. The trekking is not a hard trek however to avoid the warm sunshine, it is advised to start the trek at 6:00 or maximum at 8:00 in the morning. This guided trek takes around 4 hours (ascent and descent). Take the proper shoes, the hat, the sun cream, the sun glasses, and the bottled drink water.
